Here is where Sam will be my greatest asset. As traditional square dancing grows (one of our objectives) the need for specialized music will become apparent for specialty dances such as singing squares, couples dance routines, solo/line dances, Schottisches, etc., that may become part of the square dance scene. We hope to have available audio files to help musicians with new tunes or tunes from antiquity that may be part of this revival.
In addition discussions on tempo, rhythms, and musicianship will be our focus. The modernization of contras and traditional squares will require changes in the tempo to fit these demands. Bands that are able to play the right tempo will have the advantage. More over callers that recognize the demands the newer calls/chorography put on the dancer and can address these changes with the band will also have the advantage over other callers.
We will set the sections up according to dance styles and will generate articles or post articles that generate from the blogs and other callers as soon as possible.
Hope to get musicians and bands involved,
Ray and Sam
